Institute on Religious Life
Sister Rose Therese and I attended the Institute on Religious life conference this past week. It was an eventful weekend filled with conferences and prayer. The theme of the IRL conference was “Utilizing the New Media for the New Evangelization.” Topics of evangelization through internet and other forms of media were discussed. The conference reflected a lot of the impact of Blessed John Paul II and Fulton Sheen had on the evangelization of culture through media resources.
It was wonderful to meet and mingle with religious from various parts of the United States. We got a chance to talk with young people who were discerning God’s call for their lives, as well.
We were very blessed to be able to stay at Marytown which is run by the Conventual Franciscans. Marytown has a beautiful perpetual Adoration Chapel.
The timing of the conference coincided with both Divine Mercy Sunday and the Beatification of our beloved Blessed John Paul II. What a grace-filled weekend it was!
