Founders Day 2011

July 21, 2011

On July 16, 1877 our community was founded by Bishop John Lancaster Spalding and Mother M. Frances Krasse. To remember our past and celebrate our future we held a special prayer service at St. Joseph’s cemetery where are founding Sisters were laid to rest.

Following the prayer service we went back to the Motherhouse and enjoyed a festive meal and then Mass was celebrated at 2pm. We also celebrated Solemn Vespers at 5pm.

So excited that you and Lucy are making strides towards the time when you will become the Brides of Christ, and join those who have already made their vows and praise the name of the Lord forever!

    Welcome to the Order Lucy,
And Postulant Elisabeth congratulations on your moving closer to the time when you will don the habit and the white veil of the Novitiate. My prayer for both of you is that you will continue to grow in grace and favor before the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom we owe all praise and glory for what He has done for us.
